Child Safety Standards
Last updated: July 2026
1. Our Commitment
Masana TV has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
2. What Is Prohibited
We prohibit any content or behaviour that sexualises minors; CSAM in any form, including video, images, live streams, comments, chat, profile photos and bios; grooming; sextortion; soliciting minors; sharing or linking to such content; and trafficking of minors.
These standards apply to clips, live streams, live chat, comments, profiles, partner channels and campaigns.
3. How to Report
In the Masana TV app you can report any video, live stream, profile or comment. Tap the Report (flag) button on a video or live stream, “Report profile” on a creator’s profile, or the three-dot menu → Report on a comment, then choose “Child Safety”. Child safety reports alert our safety team immediately and are reviewed with priority.
For videos, live streams, profiles or anything else, email info@masana.tv with the subject “Child Safety” and include a link to the content or account. Child safety reports are reviewed with priority.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the South African Police Service (SAPS) on 10111 or the Childline South Africa helpline on 116.
4. How We Respond
We remove violating content promptly, permanently ban accounts involved, and preserve relevant information as required by law. We report confirmed CSAM to the relevant authorities, including SAPS and the Film and Publication Board (FPB), and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.
5. Compliance With Law
Masana TV complies with applicable child safety laws, including the South African Films and Publications Act, the Children’s Act and the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act.
6. Age Requirements
Users must be at least 13 years old to use Masana TV. Users under 18 require consent from a parent or legal guardian to create an account and use the services.
7. Child Safety Point of Contact
